Athena was the goddess of war, wisdom and the useful arts. Athena was born from out of her father's head named Zeus. She was fully grown dressed up with a robe and helmet when she was born. She never met her mother because Zeus ate her Mother. They preferred to call Zeus child "daughter". Zeus loved her so much he wanted to show his affection by loaning her his chariot and weapons and even gave her own special shield marked with the head of Medusa. She protected cities, states and heroes. Many people pray for her for help to do journeys and conquests. She only would help those who fought with the right purpose in her mind. She doesn't want to end it with war so she comes up with solution. She help protect the armies and warriors for a very safe trip back home. She really wanted to know what's in the cities and the people of Athens. It was said that she fought with Poseidon who wanted to take leadership in the city, so Zeus ask to settle the fight by a challenge. That is whoever could supply better things for the people that would rule over the city. Poseidon gifted them with water but the people hated it because it was to salty, so Athena gifted them with a olive tree that she won the challenge. In honor for Athena the people named the city Athens and made an elaborate temple called the Parthenon. Athena is very skilled, she invented many objects and useful tools. She had the recognition of her many skills that she notorious for her fine craftsmanship. She was thought to have been the best weaver in the world.
